What are Data Sharing Requests
In Short
A 'Data Sharing Request' (DSR) is an application for a resource within CADRE.
A 'Data Sharing Request' is the output from the process of requesting access to a resource. When completed, it will outline the reasons as to why the data is being requested, who is the person or people requesting the data, and any projects which the data will be used for.
When requesting for a resource through ourselves, the Australian Data Archive, or through one of our partners, you will be redirected to this page directly rather than having to choose and select a resource yourself.
'My DSR' Page
All of your DSRs can be viewed in a tabular format on the 'My DSRs' page or by pressing the 'My DSRs' link on the navigation bar. Each row of the page contains the following information:
Column | Description |

DSR ID | Unique identifier generated for each DSR |
Resource | The resources which the DSR is for |
Projects | The total number of projects linked to the application |
Applicant | The main applicant for the given DSR |
Date Created | When the DSR was made |
Date Modified | When the DSR was last changed |
Status | Describes at what point in the approval process the DSR is in |
At the end of each row, there are two buttons. They do the following:
Action | Description |

Open/Edit | Will open the 'View DSR' page (the 'View DSR' page is outlined below) |
Delete | Will delete a DSR (only if in 'DRAFT') |
'View DSR' Page
'Data Sharing Request' States
State | Description |
---|---|
Closed | The DSR is archived so actions and changes are unavailable to the DSR. |
Rejected | The submitted DSR application was unsuccessful and the request was not approved. |
Revoked | The submitted DSR application was successful at a point in time but it has since been rescinded and access to the requested resources has been revoked. |
Approved | The submitted DSR was successful and access has been granted to the requested resources. |
Draft | The DSR has not been submitted for approval yet and is still being completed by the applicant. |
Returned | The DSR was submitted for approval but the approver returned the DSR to the applicant. This is done so applicants can update information and resubmit their application without having to create a new DSR. |
Submitted | The DSR has been submitted for approval and the applicant is waiting for the approver to reach a decision. |
