Introduction

This Administration Guide will walk you through the entire process of setting up assets within CADRE so that they are available for end-users to interact with.

Background

As an administrator on the CADRE platform, you can control which resources are available to users to request, what they must do to submit a request, and finally how the request is handled. For the CADRE application to function as a resource management platform, a number of assets are required to be created and managed to facilitate this process.

Prerequisites

To begin creating assets within CADRE, you must have either the Platform Owner or Organisation Owner roles. A Platform Owner can create all assets for any organisation, but an Organisation Owner can only create and edit items belonging to their own organisations. If you do not have these roles, you will not be able to access the 'Asset Control' page and will not be able to create assets.

You can check which roles your account currently has by navigating to the CADRE dashboard. Under the welcome message, all of your roles will be visible for your reference. In the image below, the user has the Organisation Owner role and would be able to create and edit assets pertaining to their organisation.
